DESIGNED SECURITY, INC. AND NEWTON SECURITY, INC. TO DEVELOP NEW SENSING TECHNOLOGY FOR OPTICAL TURNSTILES
Bastrop, TX and Seattle, WA - Designed Security, Inc. (DSI), a leading manufacturer and provider of access management solutions and Newton Security, Inc., the global leader in the supply of machine vision single person detection systems, announced today an exclusive development agreement which will change the face of traditional Optical Turnstiles. Under this agreement Newton will modify its patent pending T-DAR® 3-D stereo camera tailgate and piggybacking technology to integrate with DSI’s Optical Turnstile product line, thus insuring that DSI remains the technology leader in Optical Turnstiles.
“The new DSI Optical Turnstile system using overhead 3-D camera sensing will be designed to take the powerful T-DAR® , Tailgate Detection and Recording technology and combine it with the proven DSI Optical Turnstiles to create the most foolproof system in the industry” said DSI Vice President and Operations Manager Mark Crandall. “We are very pleased to have Newton as a partner and I anticipate that our product fitted with T-DAR® technology will revolutionize the Optical Turnstile market.”
This new DSI Optical Turnstile, designed to be used in public/private lobby entry control applications, will improve tailgating and piggybacking detection while allowing for traditionally troublesome items like carts and luggage to pass through undetected. In addition, for the first time it will be possible to allow handicap access though optical turnstiles with full tailgate/piggybacking prevention. The agreement between DSI and Newton provides for DSI to be the excusive supplier of the T-DAR® technology for Optical Turnstiles in North America.
